Because Our Community Matters – Desert Vista Elementary School Paper Run

We’re all affected in one way or another by a schoolteacher and we all see how hard they work and how almost always there is somewhere funding falls short and they’re left to supply their classrooms with their own money. So, when we learned of the Paper Run at Desert Vista Elementary School, an annual event to help supply the teachers with paper that they need for their classrooms, we knew it was something we wanted to help with.

Did you know a school of this size typically goes through well over 1600 reams of paper in a school year? Do you want to guess how much their budget allows for?
No wonder they have been doing this paper run for so many years with the help of the community and families!

This year we were excited to get involved and happy to partner with our friends at Team Connolly at Academy Mortgage and 2Cs Cooling and Heating #TheACGuys to help with this need.

Our school district is so important to us, as local business owners and parents, and as community members we feel it’s also important to help as much as we can. Thankfully, the Newman family in Apache Junction has been sponsoring this paper run for several years at Desert Vista and even donate a pizza party to the class with the biggest donation.

Together, Craven Construction, Team Connolly at Academy Mortgage, and 2C’s Cooling and Heating donated 30 cases of paper (300 reams) to Desert Vista Elementary school and the reception was more than we had expected. We received so many thank yous and looks of surprise! That made it an even more rewarding experience and we are grateful for the opportunity to give back!

The Paper Run is an annual event held in August at Desert Vista Elementary School in Apache Junction.
